National Center for Youth in Custody will be hosting a Webinar, Providing Access to Counsel to Improve Facility Conditions on July 17, 2013 from 2-3:30 p.m. EST.  Register here.  Presenters include Tony Celestine, Director of Detention Services for the Calcashieu Parish Office of Juvenile Justice Services in Lake Charles, Louisiana; Tim Curry, Managing Attorney at the National Juvenile Defender Center; and Jamie Argento Rodriguez, Juvenile Services Program Coordinator, Public Defender Services for the District of Columbia.

Vera Institute of Justice released Measuring Success:  A Guide to Becoming an Evidence-Based Practice, by Jennifer Fratello, Tarika Daftary Kapur, and Alice Chasan.  The article describes the process that assesses whether a program qualifies as evidence based, which may be necessary to receive social services funding, and explains how programs can prepare to be evaluated.

On July 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. EST, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the U.S. Department of Justice Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships will present a Webinar, Faith in Action: Working with Children of Incarcerated Parents.  Register here.
