Cyberbullying — What to Say to Kids

As of July 1, 2013, there is new anti-bullying legislation for activities at school.  See this previous post.  Bullying activities using computers may also be criminal or delinquent acts of intimidation or harassment.  For tips on how to speak to kids about cyberbullying and research on the issue, see these resources:

The Indiana Attorney General’s Office website has some tips here.

The Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center has several brochures that can be downloaded to help parents and children discuss bullying and social media.  They are available here.  There are several journal articles on cyberbullying available here.

The Cyberbullying Research Center has games that children can play to help them learn about the issues and their use of technology.
