Access to Healthcare for Vulnerable Populations Webinar

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, National Center for Youth in Custody will present a Webinar, “Access to Healthcare for Vulnerable Populations,” on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET.

Panel members include: Dr. Michelle Staples-Horne, Medical Director, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice and Dr. Ngozi Ezike, Medical Director, Cermak Health Care at the Cook County Juvenile Temporary Detention Center.

Topics include:

  1. Understanding the healthcare needs of residents presenting with adolescent HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, and pregnancy
  2. Discuss appropriate and inappropriate strategies for restraining pregnant residents
  3. Understand the steps to implement responsive dental services
  4. Increase knowledge of federal HIPAA requirements and the impact of these requirements on staffs’ rights to know
