Indiana Not Complying With PREA

Governor Pence sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on May 15, 2014, which states that Indiana will not come into full compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).  For a copy of the letter and coverage of the issue, see this Indiana Law Blog post.  It is important to note that two Indiana juvenile facilities have been the subject of U.S. Department of Justice investigations for violations of the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act.  See this blog post for more.
