A free, online training series about effective juvenile interviewing and interrogation techniques has been released by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The target audience is law enforcement and juvenile justice professionals who interview and/or interrogate youth. Topics include: (1) analyzing juvenile behavior, (2) developing rapport with youth, (3) juvenile interviewing techniques, and (4) juvenile interrogation techniques. The training is based on the IACP and OJJDP program “Introduction to Juvenile Interview and Interrogation Techniques.” A summary of the online program is available here.
