The American Bar Association has recently published the 2014 edition of the Trial Manual for Defense Attorneys in Juvenile Delinquency Cases. The Manual “deals exclusively with the tasks, skills, rules of law, and issues of strategic judgment involved in representing clients in juvenile court. Rather than ignoring those aspects of juvenile proceedings that mirror adult criminal practices, it examines them at every stage. This is, quite consciously, a manual for defense attorneys.”
The National Juvenile Defender Center published a Trial Manual for Defense Attorneys in Juvenile Court (updated 2013), and National Juvenile Defense Standards (Winter 2012).
The Indiana Public Defender Council (IPDC) has published a Juvenile Delinquency Manual (2012) and Juvenile Defense Standards (2014) for Indiana public defenders. The manuals are only available to public defenders. Contact IPDC for more information.
