DOC Awarded OJJDP Second Chance Act Grant

The Indiana Department of Correction, Division of Youth Services was awarded a $100,000 Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention 2014 Second Chance Act Planning Grant. The funds will be used to develop a plan to redevelop reentry services for youth leaving DOC with the goal of reducing recidivism.

Particular focus will be on education, including vocational programs, and transition services in the community.

Hopefully, this grant will tie into the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative rolling out across the state to help bolster community resources in rural communities.
