Webinars — Children of Arrested Parents and School Behavior Interventions

Two webinars will be held this week that may be of interest:

On December 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., there will be a webinar on “Safeguarding Children of Arrested Parents during Investigative and Tactical Operations” focusing on “strategies to help law enforcement reduce risks and trauma to children during parental arrest operations.  To register, go here.  The webinar is sponsored by the International Association of Chiefs of Police, with the U.S. Bureau of Justice Assistance, which has developed a model policy, available here.

On December 10, 2014, from 3-4:30 p.m., there will be a webinar on “Target Behavior Interventions” highlighting recommendations from the School Discipline Consensus Report.   Presenters will discuss early warning data systems, student support teams, external partnerships, and alternative school options.  To register, go here.  The event will be sponsored and/or coordinated by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the U.S. Departments of Justice, Education, and Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Council of State Governments Justice Center, the Center for Coordinated Assistance for States, the National Center on State Supportive Learning Environments, and the National Evaluation and Technical Assistance Center for the Education of Children and Youth Who are Neglected, Delinquent, or At-Risk.
