House Bill 1132 (2015) Juvenile Justice Evaluation Commission

HB 1132 (2015) would establish a juvenile justice evaluation commission with twenty-two members, including the Department of Child Services, Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, Indiana Public Defenders Council, Indiana Department of Correction, legislators, judges, the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, a probation officer, two educators, and three representatives of juvenile nonprofit entities.  “…The commission shall evaluate the juvenile justice laws of Indiana.  If, based on the commission’s evaluation, the commission determines that changes are necessary or appropriate, the commission shall make recommendations to the general assembly for modification of the juvenile justice laws…”
